Music Composition for Dancers
(Note: Class presently in Development)
This course takes a look at how music is often composed or created, and how dancers can integrate and notate their choreography into a music composition, just like a lyricist adds words.
The Art Of Judging
In the Art of Judging, we take a look at how Dancesport Judges come up with their scores for a competition. In the few seconds that they have to look at each dance couple, how do they process what they see, and develop meaningful scores. And for those judges that not only adjudicate, but also coach, how do they review other judges scores and determine what their students must do to improve.

The Inner Game of Dance
Every competitive game (or sport activity) that we play, consists of an external outer game and an inner game.
The outer game is played against an external opponent and/or external obstacles, all in an effort to reach some external goal. There are plenty of publications (books, articles, magazines) that go into great detail about how to improve aspects of your external game, whether it’s a putt in golf, a tennis serve, or hitting a baseball.
But this is a class about improving Your Inner Game. The Inner Game is the one that takes place in the mind of the player, as one is challenged by such inner obstacles like, lapses in concentration, self-doubt, nervousness, or self-condemnation. The goal of the inner game is to overcome these bad habits of the mind, in order to achieve your peak excellence in performance of your external game.
